AI technical leadership · part-time · 6-month commitment
01 / 09

An AI CTO on your team.
Without the salary

Strategic steering, AI project oversight, technology decisions. For SMEs that don't want to hire too early — or fly blind.

02 / 09
The problem

You have AI ambitions. No CTO.

Hiring a full-time AI CTO costs between €90,000 and €150,000 per year, all-in. A senior profile also wants 6 to 12 months of visibility before signing.

Until you reach critical mass — say a tech team of at least 5 people — an in-house CTO has neither enough work nor enough budget. But not having one costs you dearly: bad technology decisions, poorly vetted vendors, projects that go off the rails.

The Fractional AI CTO solves that equation.

Honesty

Honest about the scope

The Fractional AI CTO is a steering role. It is not an execution role. We don't build the workflows or write the code ourselves within the CTO engagement — for that, you hire vendors (us or others) under separate contracts.

That separation is deliberate: it removes the conflict of interest (a CTO steering their own quotes) and guarantees you get the best value for money on execution.

Who it's for

This engagement is a fit if

Five criteria that confirm the Fractional CTO fit.

  • Your company has 5 to 100 employees
  • You have 2 to 5 AI projects running or planned
  • You don't (yet) have a senior tech profile in-house
  • You want to accelerate without hiring
  • You're ready to give access to your executive committee

For companies that don't yet have AI projects to steer, the 90-Day Program or the audit is often a better way in.
